Ongoing production of SOFIA Main Access Platforms

We are ongoing with production of Main Access Platforms for Sofia Offshore Wind Farm for Van Oord. Until today we have casted 61 pcs out of 100 pcs platforms in the project. We are outfitting platforms with aluminium railings and accessories, mounting and load testing davit cranes and installing upper ladder and low voltage cables and equipment. In August we have assisted Van Oord with performing an installation mock-up with the use of a monopile wooden dummy. We are also responsible for deliveries of the platforms to Port of Tyne, UK which will take place in 6 trips over the first half of 2024.

At 1.4 gigawatts (GW) Sofia Offshore Wind Farm is one of the largest single offshore wind farms in the world. It will comprise 100 14 megawatt (MW) turbines that will be sited on Dogger Bank in the central North Sea, approximately 195 kilometres from the UK’s north east coast. Now under construction the project is 100% owned by RWE.
